Access to Sendai

Access: form Tokyo Airports (Narita/Haneda) to Sendai Station

From Narita Int'l Airport

1. Take a N'EX (also known as Narita Express) express train operated by JR (Japan Railways) to Tokyo Station.
2. Get off at Tokyo Station. The N'EX arrives on the 5th basement level at Tokyo Station.
3. Follow the signboards and go up to the 1st floor and transfer to the Tohoku Shinkansen (bullet train) to Sendai Station (MIYAGI Pref.). The Tohoku Shinkansen departs from platforms No. 20 - No. 23.

From Haneda Int'l Airport

1. Take the Tokyo Monorail bound for Hamamatsucho Station at Haneda Airport International Terminal Station.
2. Get off at Hamamatsucho Station and transfer to the JR Yamanote-line bound for Tokyo Station.
3. Get off at Tokyo Station. The JR Yamanote-line arrives on the 2nd floor at Tokyo Station.
4. Follow the signboards and go down to 1st floor and transfer to the Tohoku Shinkansen (bullet train) to Sendai Station (MIYAGI Pref.). The Tohoku Shinkansen departs from platforms No. 20 - No. 23.

(NEW!) We suggest to purchase Tohoku Shinkansen ticket at the "JR East Travel Service Center" before you leave at Haneda/Narita airport station. Because of some large events will be held in Sendai during the period of our symposium and limited sheets available.

• Sendai City Subway: Take a subway for "Izumi Chuo", and get off the subway at "Kitayobancho" Stn. (About 5 min from Sendai Stn., ¥200) and 15 min walk from "Kitayobancho" Stn., North 2 Exit.
• Taxi: About 10 min about ¥1,300 from JR Sendai Stn. Taxi Pool.
